Along with DSP and color LCD, CEL-620.A offers all components needed for occupational hygienists to conduct various noise measurement surveys. It provides broadband meter features while simultaneously allowing user to perform real-time measurements in octaves from 16 Hz to 16 kHz and third octaves from 12.5 Hz to 20 kHz. Casella Introduces CEL-620.A Noise Measurement Kit

AMHERST, NH, August 5, 2009 -- Casella USA, the North American subsidiary of worldwide measurement leader Casella CEL, has introduced the CEL-620.A wide range integrating meter kit offering the power of digital signal processing (DSP) and a full color LCD, along with all the components necessary for occupational hygienists to conduct a variety of challenging noise measurement surveys.
The CEL-620.A provides the features of a broadband meter while simultaneously giving the user the ability to measure noise levels in whole or third octave bands across a wide range of frequencies that cover the entire audible range. As today's noise measurement requirements become more challenging, the CEL-620.A brings added ease of use to difficult situations such as those encountered with transient sources including impacts, pass-by testing of vehicles, flyover tests for aircraft, and shooting ranges. It is also a superior choice where the time average levels of varying or impulsive noises are required, for example in a workplace noise survey for OSHA/ACGIH/NIOSH compliance.
An ultra-wide dynamic range of 140 dB means that it is not necessary to worry about selecting the proper range as the meter is always on the right setting. Noise parameters such as the max, min, average and peak can be enabled or disabled depending upon the exact requirements of the task in hand.
Excellent for long-term noise surveys, the CEL-620.A performs real time measurements in octaves from 16 Hz to 16 kHz, and real time measurements in third octaves from 12.5 Hz to 20 kHz. Data log the results from 10 msec to 30 minutes to collect history of the level changes. All results are viewed on the high resolution LCD that uses color as an indicator to guide the new or experienced user through the measurement procedure.
