Based on IntelŪ EP80579 integrated processor with IntelŪ QuickAssist technology, PL-10540 and PL-10550 desktop platforms are designed for SOHO/SMB network management and network security applications. They offer 256 kb of L2 Coherent Cache, choice of four or five 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet, 1 USB 2.0 port and 1 console port, and dual color programmable LEDs. RoHS compliant platforms support DDRII 400/533/667/800 MHz memory, SATA HDD, Compact Flash II, and USB NAND Flash.

WIN Announces Desktop Networking Platforms with IntelŪ EP80579 System-on-Chip (SoC)
Compact 4GbE and 5GbE LAN models offered
NORTH ANDOVER, MA, October 28, 2008: WIN Enterprises, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of embedded controllers and network platforms for Electronic-OEMs, announces the PL-10540 and PL-10550 desktop platforms that feature the IntelŪ EP80579 Integrated Processor with IntelŪ QuickAssist Technology. The EP80579 is the Intel system-on-chip (SoC) purpose-built for the embedded and communications market with highly-integrated security features. The new WIN Enterprises platforms are designed for SOHO/SMB network management and network security applications, such as firewall, VPN, anti-spam, anti-virus, and intrusion detection & prevention.
The PL-10540 and PL-10550 support 4GbE and 5GbE LAN capability, respectively. E-OEMs are offered a scalable selection of 600MHz, 1.066GHz or 1.2 GHz versions of the Intel EP80579 Integrated Processor. Support for Intel QuickAssist high-bandwidth and low-latency accelerator technology is available on select Intel EP80579 SoC processors.

The Intel EP80579 Integrated Processor SoC was designed specifically for embedded market segments that depend on long product lifecycles. This SoC has a 45% smaller footprint with 34% lower power usage than traditional 4-chip board-level designs.[i] Integration of the CPU, North Bridge, Southbridge, and security co-processor on a single die optimizes packet processing and enables the reduced-footprint design of the new WIN Enterprises networking platforms.
