Cost-effective Probe Alternative, Lancope's StealthWatch FlowSensor 250, Now Available

New appliance cost-effectively delivers packet-level visibility into traffic at branch offices and remote locations

ATLANTA, -- Lancope, Inc., the leader in NetFlow(TM) collection and analysis and provider of StealthWatch for flow-based network performance and security monitoring, today announced that its newest product, the StealthWatch FlowSensor 250, is generally available for purchase. A lower capacity, compact form-factor appliance, the FlowSensor 250 enables Layer 7 application monitoring to dramatically increase network visibility into branch offices and remote locations. By gathering packet-level metrics to monitor all network communications, StealthWatch dramatically reduces Mean-Time-to-Know (MTTK) for identifying and troubleshooting network issues faster than ever. StealthWatch provides borderless network visibility to isolate the root cause and restore performance quickly and efficiently, whether malware, botnets, policy violations or misconfigured network devices.

"Global 1,000 companies with remote and small offices require network insight to manage IT effectively. Before Lancope introduced the StealthWatch FlowSensor 250, there was no way to obtain sufficient visibility - at a reasonable cost -into their network, making it significantly more difficult to manage today's increasingly complex wide area network," said Adam Powers, CTO of Lancope. "Real-time flow visibility is critical for overcoming both network and security-related issues."

The StealthWatch FlowSensor 250 appliance is ideally suited for healthcare institutions, government agencies and retailers that have hundreds of disparate locations for which they need network visibility but NetFlow is not natively available. By passively monitoring network traffic and creating NetFlow records for detailed analysis by the StealthWatch Flow Collector or any NetFlow v9-capable flow collector, the StealthWatch FlowSensor 250 cost-effectively delivers actionable network visibility for optimizing network and security operations at a fraction of the cost of traditional probe-based devices.

The StealthWatchFlowSensor250 helps organizations with branch offices and remote locations:

-- Achieve comprehensive network visibility down to the individual IP flow

-- Pinpoint security-related network problems

-- Troubleshoot network latency and application performance problems

Availability & Pricing

Now generally available and shipping in North America and the European Union, the StealthWatch FlowSensor 250 has introductory pricing starting at $2,995 USD through December 31, 2010.
