November 10, 2011 - Built around Intel® 3450 PCH Express chipset, 1U FWA8207 supports LGA1156 Intel Xeon® and Core(TM) i7/i5/i3 CPUs up to 3.33 GHz and 4 DDR3 1066/1333 DIMMs up to 16 GB. PCIe GbE functionality comes from 6 Intel® 82574L controllers, and 3 SATA connectors provide 3 Gbps data throughput. In addition to front expansion via 4-port Gigabit LAN card and rear expansion support for one or 2 PCIe 16x slots via IP327 or IP329 riser card, I/O includes 4 USB 2.0, 2 COM, 1x CF, and 1x Mini PCIe interfaces.

IBASE Announces FWA8207 1U High Performance Network Appliance


Taipei, Taiwan - IBASE Technology Inc. (TASDAQ: 8050), a world-leading manufacturer of single board computers and embedded systems, announces the release of the FWA8207 - 1U high performance network appliance. The core of FWA8207 networking motherboard MB966, which is an Intel® 3450 PCH Chipset-based network platform supporting Intel® Xeon® / Core(TM) i7/ i5/ i3 processors and has six Gigabit Ethernet ports, delivering higher performance while enabling lower-power and quieter systems in network service applications.

Built around the Intel® 3450 PCH Express chipset, the FWA8207 supports LGA1156 Intel® Xeon® / Core(TM) i7/ i5/ i3 processors of up to 3.33 GHz speed and four DDR3 1066/1333 DIMM modules. PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet functionality comes from six Intel® 82574L controllers and three SATA connectors on board provides 3Gb/s data throughput speed. Front expansion is available to support 4-port Gigabit LAN card. Rear expansion is available to support one or two PCI Express 16x slots with the IP327 or IP329 riser card.

In order to meet various customers' demands, FWA8207 provides three models to support internal 2.5" HDD, 3.5" HDD and different LGA1156 processors. Users are provided with flexible SKU for product value and cost saving. Other advanced features include four USB 2.0 ports, two COM ports and a watchdog timer. FWA8207 is an ideal and powerful networking solution for firewall & VPN applications.
