With PacketScan(TM), users can monitor IPv4 and IPv6 networks; segregate, capture, and collect statistics on VoIP calls; and monitor QoS on voice/video calls. Program delivers graphical presentations of analysis, including ladder diagrams of protocols. In addition to providing detail decodes of FAX calls, PacketScan(TM) can extract Fax images from captured fax calls. Software can capture and analyze calls for theoretically infinite time, limited only by finite space of hard disk or network hard drive.

GL Announces Enhanced PacketScan(TM) Software
Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA - GL Communications Inc. announced today the release of enhanced PacketScan(TM) software, an Ethernet/IP/VoIP Traffic Analyzer.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Karthik Ramalingam Manager Product Development of the company said, "PacketScan(TM) is a powerful software tool that features real-time capture of Ethernet, IP, VoIP, and IP based Video traffic with extensive analysis using graphs, and statistics. Some of the important applications of PacketScan(TM) are:
o Monitors live IPv4 and IPv6 networks,
o Segregates, captures, and collects statistics on VoIP calls (H.323, SIP, MGCP, Megaco, T.38, and many others),
o Monitors QOS (quality of service) on voice and video calls,
o Permits analysis of, and conformance to protocol standards for the system under test or observation,

Important Enhancements Introduced to PacketScan(TM) Software:
o IPv6 Support
The application is now enhanced to capture and analyze calls over IP version 6 (IPv6) Protocol.
o Extract Fax Image from Fax Call
In addition to providing detail decodes of a FAX call, PacketScan(TM) now includes an option to extract Fax images (in TIFF format) from captured fax calls. The analyzer can also be set to trigger on fax calls and store the extracted fax images in a folder automatically during the capture.
o Additional Codec Support
Supports two more codecs GSM-HR (Half Rate) and GSM-EFR (Enhanced Full Rate). Also supports MOS Scores for AMR_WB codec (for all 9 modes).
o Report Mid Call Digits
Mid call outband digits detected on a call are now reported along with SIP signaling events in CSV reports.
o Import Wireshark Traces
Provides an option to Import Wireshark traces (.pcap and .cap) into the Analyzer. Wireshark traces can be converted to .HDL (GL's trace format) file and opened in the analyzer for analysis.
