A New Generation of Versatile Net-Weight Fillers

During Interpack (Hall 13, Stand D54), Hema is presenting its new GW weight filler for vegetable oil packaging. This filler comes in several configurations to meet the needs of dairy products as well as sauces.

A reliable filler
The GW net-weight filler is equipped with the latest generation of weight sensors. With their robust design, made entirely of stainless steel, and their range of reading, these sensors can be used for volumes up to five liters. They have IP69K protection, which is the highest degree available against dust and water penetration. The offset valve makes this a flexible machine for processing both liquid and more viscous products. Its dosing precision is optimized thanks to an innovative level regulation system. Quick tool changeovers make this a perfectly ergonomic machine. Due to its small chamber, savings on water and cleaning solutions help to lower both costs and environmental footprint. The GW model can reach output speeds of up to 60,000 bottles per hour.

A universal nozzle for dairy products
The GWm model is ideally adapted to liquid dairy products, whether fresh or ESL with a shelf life up to 60 days: drinkable yogurt, probiotics, smoothies, etc. As a result of its new universal nozzle, the GWm can fill foamy liquids like milk, as well as more viscous products such as drinkable yogurt with fruit bits or soft cereals up to 5x5x5mm in size, without the need to change the nozzle tip. This nozzle is available for volumes ranging from 80 milliliters to 1 gallon. This helps to save a considerable amount of time during product changeover, and the absence of human intervention inside the machine prevents any contamination or the need to use long cleaning and decontamination cycles. The hygienic design of the GWm meets the expectations of the dairy industry and complies with 3A, EHEDG and FDA standards. It enables use of a laminar flow layout. At the end of production, cleaning cycles (CIP-COP) and sterilization cycles at 115°C (SIP-SOP) are fully automated.

Integrated net-weight filling: The Combi concept
This GW weight filler is also available in the Combi version, offering an integrated solution for blow molding, filling and capping of liquid foods and household products in PET containers. This system limits the pieces of equipment required, while improving package hygiene and increasing production reliability. Coupled with the proven dry decontamination technology for preforms known as Predis(TM), the Combi GWm is generally used with sensitive products that require the highest level of hygiene.

A multi-product filler integrating gravimetric technology
Thanks to extensive knowledge of volumetric and weight filling technologies, Hema proposes fillers in which one turret is used for a thick product and a second turret for a thinner one. This design meets the needs for two-phase products, which are now a high-growth market. This synchrobloc has four turrets: first, rinsing and volumetric filling for the viscous phase with fruit bits up to 20x20x20mm in size, then weight filling for the liquid phase with pulp up to 5x5x5mm in size and finally capping.

Package sterilization is done with peracetic acid
(PAA) and capsule decontamination with pulsed light. The filling chamber is under filtered air. Depending on the chosen recipe and the volume to dose on each carrousel, machine speed can range from 150 to 500 packages per minute. This configuration enables the filling of a multitude of dairy products such as yogurts, two-phase foods, cream desserts and fruit sauces. The first synchrobloc in ultra-clean configuration was recently delivered to a major European dairy group.
