QUEBEC CITY, - EXFO Inc. (NASDAQ: EXFO) (TSX:EXF) announced today the addition of Fibre Channel and multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) test capabilities to its popular NetBlazer multiservice testers. Housed in the powerful FTB-1 platform, NetBlazer series testers provide frontline technicians with fast, intuitive and ultra-portable test solutions.
Launched nine months ago, the NetBlazer series has quickly gained market acceptance. Namely, 10 of the world's 15 largest operators have selected the flagship FTB-880 NetBlazer Multiservice Tester for their network deployments. The new Fibre Channel function offers a best-in-class range of interfaces (1, 2, 4, 8, 10X). These added capabilities further enhance the NetBlazer series' feature set, extending its reach to include storage area networks (SANs) for cloud-based applications, data centers and financial communities.
The new Fibre Channel capabilities can be enabled on existing field units via a simple on-site software upgrade--they do not require a factory return. This provides customers with the highest level of flexibility without disrupting their ongoing activities.
