Fast-Change Multi-Bag Filter Reduces Downtime

In both industrial and commercial applications, the new SE MAXILINE(TM) multi-bag filter vessel from Hayward Industrial Products reduces the downtime required for filter media changing. The filter vessel's innovative design features a spindle/interlock mechanism with an integral QIC-LOCK® clamp to replace the cover eye-bolt hold-downs and separate venting system that is commonly used on conventional multi-bag filter vessels.

This unique mechanism makes opening and closing the cover a quick and easy process. The QIC-LOCK® clamp design prevents the cover from being opened until the vessel has been properly vented. Moving the safety interlock handle upwards (as shown) simultaneously vents the vessel and unlocks the clamp for opening. A threaded spindle mechanism, operated by a hand wheel, opens the clamp so that the cover can be raised with the help of a spring assisted hinge. The vessel cannot be re-pressurized until the QIC-LOCK clamp has been fully closed and the safety interlock engaged which closes the vent valve. The entire process takes less than 15 seconds compared to the 10 MINUTES or more it takes to open a vessel with bolted closure.

The SE MAXILINE multi-bag filter vessel also features a low-profile design. Reduced vessel height makes the vessel very operator-friendly in that installing and replacing filter bags can be done without the need for stepladders or overhead hoists. MAXILINE SE filter vessels are available in 3, 4, 6 and 8 bag models all constructed of stainless steel. They feature a choice of flanged end connections from 3 to 8 inches and either Viton or Buna-N seals.

Hayward has a vast selection of filter bags that have been designed to provide superior filtration performance in MAXILINE vessels. There is a choice of 18 fabric materials with 15 different micron rations from 1/2 to 800. Both welded and sewn bags are available with a choice of several different sealing rings and collars. The SE MAXILINE vessel can be used with most standard 7 X 32 inch filter bags as well.
