June 3, 2003 - Series GR bearings, with GRIP-IT design, provide 360° of equalized locking contact to shaft, eliminating shaft offset and reducing vibration and noise during operation. Bearings can be removed or repositioned without marring shafts. Able to lock in bi-directional applications, self-aligning products can replace both setscrew locking and eccentric-collar locking bearings.

Peer Bearing Introduces New 'Grip-It' 360 Degree Lock Mounted Ball Bearings

PEER Bearing Company, Waukegan, Illinois, has introduced "GRIP-IT," a new superior locking design for its mounted ball bearings, enabling quieter, longer lasting units and subsequent savings in maintenance and replacement costs. Locking design is a major factor in mounted bearing performance.

New 'GRIP-IT' locking design provides 360 degrees of equalized locking contact to the shaft which eliminates the shaft offset found on all traditional (set screw or eccentric collar) locking designs. The elimination of this offset between bearing bore and shaft significantly reduces vibration and noise during operations. Companies spend many hours designing products that are rotationally balanced to reduce vibration only to use a bearing that counteracts this balance. New "GR" series bearings from PEER help maintain this rotational balance thereby increasing performance.

In addition, "GRIP-IT" locking design mounted ball bearings can be removed or repositioned easily because they do not mar the shaft as traditional locking designs making it easier and less expensive to service.

Able to lock in bi-directional applications, "GR" series bearings can replace both set screw locking and eccentric collar locking bearings. Available in many popular sizes, PEER's new "GR" self aligning bearings can be used in all standard cast iron, malleable iron and pressed steel housings resulting in reduced replacements for current bearing styles

PEER also offers widely used "SER" cylindrical OD bearings with the "GRIP-IT" locking style. Called the "GER" series, it can provide concentric rotation to rollers and other applications where a press-in bearing is desired but not previously feasible.
