In VFC eco mode, it adjusts magnetizing current to actual load requirements to optimize energy efficiency. Unit also includes color-coded, illuminated area on surface for visible diagnostics in field or from different mounting positions. Operation and diagnostics are handled by L-force Engineer software.

High energy efficiency in the new VFC eco mode Hanover/Hamelin - smaller, more efficient, with increased intelligence: The area of "decentralised drive technology" within Lenze's L-force automation platform now has a new addition to the family with the 8400 motec. With its compact and cost-effective design, the new motor inverter is ideally suited to intralogistic applications and general mechanical engineering.
The decentralised series initially covers power ranges from 0.37 to 1.5 kW (powers will steadily increase). Mounting directly on the motor yields cost advantages resulting from, for example, elimination of the shielded motor cable. A technological highlight is the VFC eco mode of the 8400 motec, which intelligently adjusts the magnetising current to the actual load requirements. Particularly during partial load operation, three-phase AC motors have tended to be supplied with a higher magnetising current than is actually required for operation. As the 8400 motec with VFC eco mode handles energy extremely efficiently, you can benefit from up to 30 percent less energy demand.
As the name indicates, the 8400 motec is based on the Inverter Drives 8400 (panel mounted) platform. This offers a considerable number of benefits: Uniform operation and diagnostics by means of L-force Engineer, consistent use of the same keypads, more efficient operation within integrated centralised and decentralised systems, compatible connection system. Attention is even paid to a small yet fine detail on the operator interface: The clearly visible illuminated area with defined status colours on the surface of the device housing facilitates the initial diagnostics even from further afield and in the case of challenging mounting positions.
