ARINC Managed Services Adds Pro-Active Monitoring for Airport Devices On-Site and Off-Site

Annapolis, Maryland, USA, October 4, 2007 - As airports expand with hundreds of new IT devices to improve the passenger travel experience, monitoring the health of these devices has become a significant issue. ARINC Managed Services today introduced a solution - AMS Device-Level Monitoring - that gives the ARINC Service Desk a clear view of the status of virtually all devices on an airport's system.

Continuous pro-active monitoring with alerts means AMS managers can detect and identify faults across the entire system - on-site or off - even before failures are actually reported. This promises to simplify airport IT support and shorten repair times significantly. And unlike partial solutions from individual manufacturers, the AMS remote monitoring capability is independent of device brand or manufacturer.

AMS will provide details and a live demonstration of its new Device-Level Monitoring capability at a press conference scheduled for 9:00 am Monday, October 1, 2007 at Booth #619 of the Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) 2007 Exposition in Kansas City, Missouri.

"There is a critical need for Device-Level Monitoring today, as airports install more remote devices to assist passengers - such as self service kiosks and electronic parking systems-which may be located completely off-site," stated Jim L. Martin, Senior

Director, ARINC Managed Services. "By introducing true Device-Level Monitoring capability, AMS is bringing a Best Practices standard from IT into the airport."
The pilot customer for AMS Device-Level Monitoring has already applied it airport-wide to the support of Public Address, Flight Information Display, and Baggage Information Display systems. AMS is also readying a second deployment for a major North East airport, where the system will support 200 workstations and related peripherals.
