Basic Electronic Monitoring Relays Save Space, Simplify Set-Up
MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — Phoenix Contact now offers compact monitoring relays for single-function monitoring, making simple monitoring applications more affordable. The new EMD-BL (basic line) monitoring relays are available with optional push-in technology for easier installation.
The EMD-BL is available for single-phase current monitoring, single-phase voltage monitoring, three-phase voltage monitoring and phase monitoring. Unlike the existing EMD-FL and EMD-SL relays, each BL relay provides only a single function, so installers do not have to pay extra for features they don’t need. The BL relays have a 17.55-mm-wide housing, compared with 22.5-mm in the multi-function devices, saving valuable cabinet space.
The EMD-BL family includes PT versions that incorporate Phoenix Contact’s proven push-in connection technology. The PT technology connects up to 60 percent faster than screw termination and has a retention force five times the IEC requirement. No special tools are required, which reduces installation time and costs.
The housings include rotary switches for easy parameter adjustment and status indication LEDs. The monitoring relays have UL and cUL approval.
