New Dual-Ring Mold Dating Inserts Save on Space and Complexity

MADISON HEIGHTS, MI - DME's new dual-ring mold dating insert saves space, reduces complexity and cuts time in dating plastic parts. At only 10mm in diameter and 12mm high, the new model features both month and date rings in the industry's smallest dual-ring, multi-date, indexable mold dating insert (MDI).

"In the past, dating plastic parts has been a cumbersome process," said Bob Starr, Director of Marketing at DME. "Molders either had separate month and year inserts, or they had a dual-ring insert that was only marked with the current year. The new DME inserts record 12 months, provide six-year coverage and eliminate the need to replace the MDI every January. This saves time and money for molders."

The miniaturized unit features a robust design that doesn't require an internal O-ring, thus enabling the highest temperature range in the market for dual-ring MDIs - up to 300°F (150°C). Machined from 55 HRC stainless steel for maximum resistance to corrosion and wear, the MDI features a patented positive-stop, snap-in-place design that ensures the inner insert remains fixed in the correct date position throughout production runs.
