Convert Solid State Outputs to Force-Guided Relay Outputs with new Resource Module from STI

FREMONT, CA – Scientific Technologies, Inc. introduces the RM-2AC Resource Module. The RM-2AC includes a power supply and pair of safety relays making it the ideal companion and a single point for wiring STI’s MS4600 and OS3100 solid-state safety devices. It provides connection points for all safety device functions and is compatible with STI’s MS4600, OF4600-50, PA4600 and OS3100 product families.

A range of 100 to 240 VAC input to the RM-2AC provides the connected safety device with 24VDC required for operation. Additionally, the 35mm DIN configuration requires only 150mm (6 inches) of panel space. The RM-2AC serves as a central point for terminating all signals to and from a solid-state safety device. Removable terminal blocks facilitate installation and servicing.

One NO and one NO/NC safety relay output rated at 250VAC, 6 Amps can be used as the primary switching device, or can be used to switch a contactor. The RM-2AC is able to monitor the switching function of a final switching device through the MPCE monitoring circuit. Auxiliary relay outputs are selectable between using the dry-contact relay with one NO/NC 6Amp contact, or allow the solid-state auxiliary output from the MS4600 or the OS3100 to be passed through.

With headquarters in the heart of Silicon Valley, STI was founded over 30 years ago and employs more than 350 people. STI has been selected twice by Forbes and three times by Business Week as one of the “world’s best small companies.” STI’s safety products are used to protect workers around machinery, automated equipment and industrial robots.
