Digital Lightwave Announces SSA 1220 Module - Advanced Testing Solution for SONET, SDH and OTN Network Testing
CLEARWATER, Fla. - August 10, 2009 - Digital LightwaveŽ, Inc. (OTCBB:DIGL), a leading provider of optical networking test equipment and technology, today announced the addition of SSA 1220 (SONET-SDH Analyzer) Module for the NIC Platform. The new module provides fully featured SONET, SDH and OTN (Optical Transport Network) testing at a competitive price.
The SSA 1220 provides SONET/SDH testing from 51Mbps up to 155Mbps, 622Mbps, 2.5Gbps or 10Gbps and OTN at 2.66Gbps and 10.7Gbps with built-in Optical/Electrical Power Meter, Frequency Counter, Line Frequency Offset, Payload Frequency Offset, Full Overhead Detection and Manipulation, Service Disruption Measurement, Round-Trip Delay, Automatic Protection Switch testing, Pointer Detection and Manipulation, Pointer Sequences and performance monitoring per GR-253, T1.231, G.821, G.826, G.828, G.829, M.2100, M.2101, M.2110 and M.2120. The SSA 1220 uses cost-effective SFP and XFP pluggable optic modules to support any wavelength combination desired.
Data rates for SONET/SDH and OTN are selected with license-based test options. The SSA 1220 can be equipped with the rates needed today then can be upgraded with only a license key to support future requirements.

The SSA 1220 is an extension of Digital Lightwave's Multi-Service Analyzer series (MSA 2020 and MSA 2030) released last year, with test capabilities for SONET/SDH/OTN, Ethernet, GFP, Virtual Concatenation (VCAT) and Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme (LCAS). For customers who need simply SONET/SDH/OTN test capability, the SSA 1220 provides a more cost-effective solution while still providing all the advanced SONET/SDH/OTN features of the MSA series."
The SSA 1220 Module is available in all NIC Platform products, including the compact and lightweight 2-slot portable chassis and 5-slot NIC Plus (portable) and NIC EP (rackmount). Combined with additional NIC modules including 40/43Gbps testing, OSA, PDH/T-Carrier and Jitter/Wander, the NIC can provide a custom all-in-one solution to testing today's advanced optical and NextGeneration networks.
