Herzan Introduces The WaveCatcher

Mobile site survey tool enables researchers to measure noise levels with the push of a button

LAGUNA HILLS, Calif., -- Herzan LLC announces the release of The WaveCatcher - the first mobile site survey tool that enables users to measure vibration and acoustic noise levels with the push of a button. "Until now, tools for measuring noise in the environment have all presented practical difficulties: they are too big, too complex, or too costly. The WaveCatcher removes those barriers," said Herzan President Ann Scanlan. "We expect the marketplace to be very receptive to this concept."

Herzan traditionally focused on providing high-performance vibration and noise control systems for the precision research market. But customers continually requested an easy way to analyze the vibration and acoustic noise in their lab. Herzan began work on a tool which would meet this need, collaborating with software developers and end users to refine the design and usability of the system. The result is the WaveCatcher, a system which integrates a compact computer and analysis software with a data conversion unit, vibration sensor, and acoustic sensor, all packaged in a handy carrying case.

The WaveCatcher can be carried with one hand, set up in under five minutes, and operated with the push of a button. "Given the system's ease of use and attractive price point, we expect the WaveCatcher to be attractive to a wide range of users including scientific researchers, instrument makers, product testers, and facility managers," said Scanlan, "It will be useful from the lab to the production floor."

The WaveCatcher will be available for demonstration in the US beginning June 2010. For more information or to request a demonstration, please visit www.herzan.com/WaveCatcher.html or write to sales@herzan.com.
