Komatsu's New BR480RG-1 Mobile Impact Crusher Offers Increased Productivity and High Performance
VERNON HILLS, Ill. -January 14, 2003 -Komatsu America Corp. (KAC) introduces its new 84,440 lb. BR480RG-1 Mobile Impact Crusher. Designed to provide mobile productivity for recycling, demolition and secondary rock crushing applications, the BR480RG-1 is the largest impact crusher in Komatsu's mobile crusher product family. The crusher is powered by Komatsu's 306-hp SAA6D125E-2 engine providing plenty of horsepower for all functions.
Equipped with KR1313 impact crusher, the BR480RG-1 offers high performance in a simple, easy-to-maintain design. With Komatsu's patented HydrauMind hydraulic technology, it offers contractors excellent crushing power and a production capacity of up to 441 U.S. ton/h. It is capable of crushing concrete debris, fine crushing natural stone and producing large volumes of high quality product in a single pass. The Rotor of the BR480RG-1 is also equipped with variable speed drive, enabling the processing volume and gradation to be adjusted quickly.
Improved Productivity
The BR480RG-1 offers numerous equipment features to increase
productivity in crushing applications:
• Automatic gap adjustment mechanism allows the gap to be changed by simply inputting the outlet gap size.
• The hopper is accessible from three sides for easy loading and transport.
• Semi-auto feeder system is used so if the crusher becomes overloaded the feeder will automatically adjust the feed.
• Grizzly feeder with muck extraction uses an upward slope feeder and two-stage grizzly bar to remove muck and make it difficult for finer material to enter the impactor, thus increasing wear life on internal wear parts.
• Large capacity and long belt conveyor for quick discharge of large volumes.
• Hydraulic steering and high travel speed make the crusher easy to relocate.
Easy to Maintain, Safe Machine
The BR480RG-1 uses a proven monitoring system along with other
construction equipment related technologies for excellent performance and reliability. In addition, a pre-cleaner and double element air cleaner are highly effective in preventing dust from entering the engine. Further, a water spray system with water tank, water pump and two spray bars prevents dust from
becoming an environmental issue.
The BR480RG-1 design has many safety features including:
• Emergency shut off buttons located on both the right and left sides of the chassis, the control panel, and the optional radio remote control.
• A rotating beacon that flashes when there is a malfunction. A buzzer alerts the operator in the event of an abnormal shut-down of the conveyor belt or optional equipment.
• A switch is provided to change between crushing, travel and maintenance modes.
The combination of easy maintenance and safe design ultimately lead to the BR480RG-1's ease of operation. The user friendly and comfortable design is easy on people and the environment.
