Agito Networks Launches Company to Fill Today's Unmet Need in Enterprise Mobility

Backed by a $9M Investment Round, Veteran Team Delivers Industry's Only Location-Aware Convergence Products for Mobilizing Voice and Data Applications

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 15 -- Agito Networks, Inc.(TM), a company pioneering new technology in enterprise mobility, today announced its formal corporate launch, and introduced the next generation of enterprise mobility products -- its RoamAnywhere(TM) Mobility Router.

With today's launch, Agito Networks delivers the industry's first and only business mobile convergence platform that uses RF-based, location-aware technologies to better mobilize voice and data applications, while remaining agnostic to enterprise customers' choices of mobile carriers and equipment vendors.

For the first time, enterprises can easily mobilize voice for their workforce, and truly reap the improved productivity and cost savings benefits that WiFi provides for enterprise fixed mobile convergence (eFMC). Now, enterprises can benefit from improved in-building coverage, cost savings on cellular expenses, mobile policy controls, and enhanced user productivity. For more information on Agito Networks' new enterprise mobility solution, the RoamAnywhere Mobility Router, see Agito Networks' product launch announcement also released today at http://agitonetworks.com/.

"Mobile/mobile convergence is on the way to becoming not just a cellular/WiFi voice solution, but a framework for the future of enterprise IT," said Craig Mathias, a Principal with the wireless and mobile advisory firm Farpoint Group (Ashland, Mass.). "Agito's entry into the convergence space is indicative of a vibrant, exciting opportunity and market, and will spur the adoption of convergence technology for enterprises across all markets and applications. We're also expecting tremendous growth in enterprise-centric convergence -- there's no need to wait for carrier-based solutions, and the enterprise retains control over the critical elements of management and security."

Agito Networks is well funded, recently closing a $9 million investment round led by Battery Ventures. The company's founding team all came from the Cisco Systems Wireless Networking Business Unit, and its executive leadership team has deep enterprise wireless and networking industry expertise. President and CEO Rob Markovich, with more than 20 years of startup experience, was previously the President and CEO of Network Chemistry and a founding executive of Visual Networks. CTO and founder Tim Olson, bringing more than 15 years of wireless and voice industry experience, was most recently a technical leader for WiFi products at Cisco. VP Marketing and founder Pejman Roshan, also with more than 15 years of wireless and voice industry experience, was most recently product line manager of Cisco's WiFi products. VP of Engineering Bill Miskovetz brings more than 25 years of startup experience, and was previously the VP of Engineering and founder of Trapeze Networks, a role he also held at Redback Networks. VP of Business Development Mark Cashman has more than 15 years of business development and product experience, including at IBM Global Services, AT&T and GoRemote.

"We are proud to announce the launch of Agito Networks, and to address customers' enterprise mobility needs," said Markovich. "The market is clamoring for a good mobile convergence solution. With an experienced team that includes world-class expertise in wireless and voice, strong backing from leading investors, and high interest from some of the world's best-known organizations, we are ready to meet the enterprise mobility needs of businesses across a variety of industries."

With today's launch, Agito Networks helps organizations realize productivity and cost savings benefits by ensuring that today's mobile workforce has access to the voice and data applications they need, at any time. For businesses with a voice-ready WLAN, the Agito RoamAnywhere Mobility Router eliminates choppy and dropped calls due to lack of cellular coverage, providing users the responsiveness and accessibility they need. The Agito RoamAnywhere solution also provides mobile users with a single business phone number and voice mailbox, and key IP PBX features for their mobile phone, providing users control to respond to calls, anytime, anywhere.

Agito Networks uniquely provides enterprise mobility with its location-aware technology which lets enterprises take full advantage of their WiFi deployments as an alternative to cellular networks for in-building mobility. This enables enterprises to reduce up to 60 percent of their cellular expenses, and avoid deploying costly, carrier-specific equipment to address poor cellular coverage. To ensure a seamless mobility experience for mobile workers, the RoamAnywhere Mobility Router provides fast, automatic routing between the enterprise WiFi networks and any carrier cellular network. Agito's location-aware innovation also enables enterprises to create dynamic and adaptive mobile policies that apply automatically based on where the user is.
