Industry Leading Mobile Data Capture Computer Expands Operating System Options for Increased Flexibility
EUGENE, Ore., May 30 / -- PSC Inc., a global leader in data collection technology today announced the expansion of its Falcon 4400 Series to include Microsoft's Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system.
The Falcon 4400 Series is a durable and ergonomic mobile computer designed for warehouse, distribution center, and retail in-store environments. With Windows Mobile 5.0, PSC provides users who want Microsoft's standard approach a new option in the Falcon 4400. The Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system capitalizes on the Falcon 4400's Intel XScale microprocessor architecture and 802.11g wireless local area networking capabilities.

In addition to the operating system flexibility the Falcon 4400 family of mobile computers provides an unmatched range of bar code scan engines, including a Standard Range Laser, a Long Range Laser, an Advanced Long Range Laser, and a 2D Imager. A variety of keyboards such as 26-, 48- and 52-key keypads allow further customization for specific uses.

The Falcon 4400 with Windows Mobile will have an advantage in environments where Microsoft products are the standard. In mixed device environments Windows Mobile will provide a familiar user interface similar to desktops, laptops and handheld devices as well as common tools through Office Mobile. Specified by Microsoft, Window Mobile users can take advantage of application portability between devices, built in security features like provisioning, and secure data in permanent flash based memory.
