May 28, 2008 - Included within ExtrIQ Extended Environmental Conditions product line, The Hawk is suited for military and extended environmental conditions with ambient temperature operating range of -40 to +160°F; mechanical vibration ratings from 20-2,000 Hz, 14.6 g; altitude qualifications from -1,000 to 510,000 ft; and ±20 g mechanical shock resistance. Solution can operate in position, velocity, and current modes and offers range of feedback and I/O options.

The Only Ready to Use Servo Drive up to 5kW of Continuous Qualitative Power for Military and Extended Environmental Conditions


Elmo Motion Control announced today a new addition to its ExtrIQ (Extended Environmental Conditions) products line. The Hawk is a new miniature servo drive that delivers up to 5kW of continuous power. The Hawk is one step further in Elmo's leadership to incorporate highly efficient and super compact power density products. The Hawk is designed, verified and qualified to operate in extreme environmental conditions such as:

o Operating Ambient Temperature Range: -40°C to +71°C (-40°F to 160°F)
o Operating Mechanical Vibrations: 20 Hz -2000 Hz, 14.6 g
o Operating Altitude: -400m to 150,000m (-1,000 to 510,000 ft)
o Operating Mechanical Shock: ±20 g

The Hawk weighs a mere 165grams, offering an extremely attractive miniature space saving answer. The Hawk is capable of operating in position, velocity and current modes and contains a wide range of feedback and I/O options. By using Elmo's software, users can easily perform drive setup, configuration, tuning, analysis and programming.

o Delivers up to 45 Amps of continuous current, and 70 Amps of peak current.
o Supports wide variety of feedbacks.

o Operates with a single DC bus of 11VDC -195VDC (three voltage ranges) with built-in smart control to supply "back-up" capabilities
