April 6, 2007 - With operating temperatures to 250°F and cabling rated to 500°F continuous, Miniature Bearing Sensors are used in industrial rotating equipment to indicate bearing condition. Products monitor temperature of metal beneath shoe to recognize rising temperature, which can warn of lubricating oil film breakdown. This allows machine shutdown and maintenance to take place before catastrophic failure of bearing and possible damage to its mounting.

Miniature Bearing Temperature Sensors - New Product Design

Conax Buffalo Technologies announces the redesign of their Miniature Bearing Sensors, offering improved performance and tolerances. The new MBS line offers sensor operating temperatures to +250ºF (+120ºC) with cabling rated to +500ºF (+260ºC) continuous, allowing the cable to cross hot spots in the environment. The sensor elements meet standard tolerance specifications for Class B elements per IEC 751-1995 and DIN 43760:1980.

Miniature Bearing Sensors are designed to monitor temperature of embedded bearings critical to machine performance in industrial rotating equipment. The most reliable indicator of bearing condition is the temperature of the metal beneath the shoe. Recognition of rising temperature can provide a warning of the breakdown of the lubricating oil film, allowing machine shutdown and maintenance to take place before catastrophic failure of the bearing and possible damage to its mounting.

Conax Miniature Bearing Sensors provide a simple and cost-effective method to monitor bearing temperatures. Typical applications for bearing sensors include motors, turbines, pumps, gear boxes and other journal bearing pedestals.
