Sealed Miniature Pulse Transformers Meet Mil-PRF-21038 Requirements

Ideal For Aerospace, Military, Instrumentation, Data and Other Hi-Rel Applications

ROMOLAND, CA--Designed for pulse and signal applications in timing, gate drive and data transmission circuits, the new 4257 Pulse Transformers from Datatronics Romoland, Inc., feature a rugged sealed design that meets Mil-PRF-21038, requirements for military, aerospace, instrumentation and other hi-reliability applications.

The rugged Model 4257 Pulse Transformers feature a dielectric strength of 250 Vrms, insulation resistance of 10,000 MOhms and will withstand a maximum peak pulse voltage of up to 50 V. They offer excellent performance-to-size ratio advantages, and they are ideal for trigger and signal applications in radar, motor speed controls, instrumentation, data transmission and many other high-rel applications.

The Model 4257 Pulse Transformers feature wide inductance range from 30 to 500 microH, depending on specific model selected. DCR is from 0.38 to 0.81 Ohms—primary. Other key operating specifications include turns ratio from 1:1:1 to 2:1:1 (primary, secondary, tertiary), leakage from 0.13 to 0.50 microH and an interwind capacitance from 7.5 to 25 pF.

Designed to meet Mil-PRF-21038 requirements, the Model 4257 Transformers offer high electrical performance while within challenging environments. They operate from –30 to +80°C with a service life exceeding 10,000 hours. These through-hole transformers are sized at 0.30 inch (7.62 mm) width by 0.40 inch (10.2mm) length by 0.170 inch (4.32 mm) seated height.

Both tube and tape-and-reel packaging are available to support automated assembly, and the Model 4257 Transformers are compatible with either dip or wave soldering. They are priced at $7.00 each in under 1000 piece quantities. OEM volume pricing is available upon request. Lead-time is stock to 8 weeks.

Datatronics Romoland, Inc., is a leading manufacturer high reliability transformers, inductors, military and space level LANS and related wire-wound devices in standard off-the-shelf as well as custom packages.
