AVX Adds New Capacitance Values to Its High CV X5R MLCC Series for Mobile, Medical, & Digital Electronics
Available in miniature chip sizes spanning 01005 to 1812 & rated for 100pF to 100µF, the High CV X5R MLCC Series exhibits extremely high volumetric efficiency
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- AVX Corporation, a leading manufacturer of passive components and interconnect solutions, has extended the capacitance range of its miniature High CV X5R MLCC Series. Available in eight chip sizes ranging from 01005 to 1812, voltage ratings for the series span 4V to 100V and capacitance values now span 100pF to 100µF. The miniature, high capacitance series also exhibits very low ESR and extremely high volumetric efficiency, which makes it ideal for decoupling and filtering applications in a broad range of mobile, medial, and digital electronics, including: cell phones, tablets, high-speed processors/FPGAs, and implantable medical devices.
“The expanded capacitance values for our miniature High CV X5R MLCC Series enable their employment in an even broader range of advanced mobile, medical, and digital electronics applications in which high volumetric efficiency is critical,” said Mark Obuszewski, business manager at AVX.
Comprised of high-K dielectric materials, AVX’s High CV X5R MLCCs are rated for operational temperatures spanning -55°C to +85°C and exhibit a ±15% temperature coefficient of capacitance (TCC). Unspecified capacitance values and tolerance options beyond the standard ±10% and ±20% may be available upon request.
The series is available in eight chip sizes: 01005, 0201, 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, 1210, and 1812 and eight voltage options: 4V, 6.3V, 10V, 16V, 25V, 35V, 50V, and 100V. Chip sizes 01005, 1210, and 1812 require reflow soldering; all other chips are compatible with both reflow and wave soldering.
AVX’s High CV X5R MLCC Series is compatible with SpiCap 3.0 SPICE modeling software, which can be downloaded at http://www.avx.com/SpiApps/default.asp, and is available with standard lead times. Samples, kits, and pricing are available upon request.
