April 3, 2009 - Used in fixed position and suited for limited-space applications, thermoIMAGER TIM uses absolute measuring method for recording and presentation of temperature images and profiles from -20 to +900°C. It assigns temperature value to each pixel of IR image, and FPA detector provides precise results with 160 x 120 pixels, resulting in pixel size of 35 µm. USB 2.0 interface enables real-time capture of up to 100 images/sec, and signal can also be output via analog line from 0-10 V.

Real-Time Thermography with Miniature Design

thermoIMAGER TIM is the new infrared camera from measurement technology company Micro-Epsilon. The camera, which can be used in a fixed position, has a very robust construction and is currently one of the smallest infrared cameras in the world. This provides important benefits, particularly in the case of limited space applications. Another special feature of the camera is its absolute measuring method. This unique system assigns a temperature value to each pixel of the IR image. The thermoIMAGER TIM is a fixed, infrared camera for the recording and presentation of temperature images and profiles. It provides measuring ranges between -20°C and +900°C. The FPA detector used provides very precise results with 160x120 pixels for a pixel size of 35µm. Despite its compact installation size, the product is impressive because of its ease of use. The integrated USB 2.0 interface enables the camera to capture 100 images per second in real time. The signal can also be output via analogue from 0-10V. The standard sensor package includes software for recording radiometric videos or snapshots, which enables post-processing or playback of recorded sequences and images. It is also possible to control the camera fully via the software provided. The thermoIMAGER TIM is used in industrial applications for quality assurance and process monitoring of production lines. However, it is also ideally suited use in R&D laboratories.
