RoHS-Compliant Miniature Cylindrical Connectors Now Available From Amphenol Industrial Operations

Sidney, NY, May 2006 - Amphenol Industrial Operations, a manufacturer of high reliability connectors and interconnection systems for industrial markets, has released the RoHS-compliant version of its PT Series miniature cylindrical connectors ahead of the July 1, 2006 compliance date. Design versatility combined with highly reliable performance make the PT Series connectors ideal for environmental sealing or pressurized applications across a wide range of industries.

Amphenol has reduced or, where feasible, eliminated regulated hazardous substances from these connectors. The RoHS-compliant PT Series connectors are available in shell sizes six through 24. Standard shell styles include wall mount receptacle, cable receptacle, box mount receptacle, jam nut receptacle, thru-bulkhead receptacle, and straight plug.

Amphenol's PT Series connectors feature a dependable five key/keyway polarization with bayonet lock coupling to ensure positive mating with no chance of cross plugging. They are manufactured with rugged aluminum shell components. In addition, spring tension provided by a wave washer in the coupling nut firmly maintains the interfacial seal between mating halves. Other key features include molded neoprene insert and main joint gaskets for excellent moisture sealing at the gasket and superior electrical isolation of the contact in the insert, as well as machined copper alloy pins and sockets, which are gold plated to eliminate contact corrosion and offer an indefinite shelf life.

The PT Series is intermateable and intermountable with Amphenol's other miniature cylindrical connectors series, including the SP and MS/PT Series of connectors.

Pricing for a mated pair starts at $16. Delivery is eight to ten weeks ARO factory direct or one to two weeks ARO from distributors, based on part number availability.
