Light beam interruption of actuator units range from 0.35 VOL. Forward voltages of slotted types range from 1.5 V max, with IR of 100 ľA, and gap widths from 0.125 in.

American Bright Introduces Miniature Photo Interrupter Group Featuring Miniature Connectorized & Actuator Assemblies
Absolute detection refines high-speed application uses with choice of function and package styles; units are manufactured Pb-Free (RoHS) compliant
Chino, CA, September 30, 2005 - American Bright Optoelectronics has announced their new Photo Interrupter family, designed for use in IR/optical detection applications such as copiers, printers, high-speed industrial machinery, garage door openers and photo encoder based devices. Featuring high precision optics, and a variety of gate widths, these miniature devices are excellent alternatives to the use of conventional switches, which may demonstrate backlash or delays in detection speed and accuracy. They function comfortably in either analog or digital control techniques, and provide non-contact detection, long-life, low power consumption, high reliability and high precision.
The BPI Series offers a choice of twenty-four (24) Slotted types, seven (7) Actuator, and five (5) Reflective types, including mini-reflective models available in axial and gull-wing packages. Highlighting the new group, several miniature models are featured in harnessed/connectorized styles, providing a "plug-n-play" unit for replacement and lower installation cost. Actuator types include levered operation in device packages as small as 0.374" (9.5mm) x 0.394" (10.0mm) from base unit to optic line. Light beam interruption of the actuator units range from 0.35VOL (@IOL=16mA). Forward voltages (VF) of slotted types range from 1.5V maximum (@IF=20mA), IR of 100ľA (@VR=5V), and gap widths from 0.125 (3.18mm). Encoder styles feature two-bit PTR and dual-channel OEIC (Rambo OEIC) functions. And, custom functions and packaging is available.
