Low Profile 124-pin Mini PCI Connectors from Molex Offer Rugged Performance, Space Savings
Optimize PCB real estate savings with 124-pin Type III Mini PCI* Connectors from Molex Incorporated. These 0.8mm (.031") pitch SMT connectors feature low profile mounted height options of 4.0mm (.160") and 5.2mm (.204") to ease vertical space constraints and give greater design flexibility for LAN and modem card makers.
These connectors have a patented anti-overstress feature that helps protect the latch from breaking. Plastic latches help prevent scratching of the memory module. The connectors are available with or without grounding clips. They are also available with front solder tabs for optimal PCB hold-down or with PC tabs formed from a singie-piece metal of the nail on each arm of the connector.
The connector's stamped-and-formed contacts provide good contact wipe and electrical continuity and have no sharp edges to damage the module. Gang-load assembly of the contacts provides excellent coplanarity control of 0.1mm (.004").
The connector's housing is made of glass-filled high temperature thermoplastic to withstand IR reflow temperatures. Customers can order the connectors in soft- or semi-hard tray, and tape-and-reel packaging.
Pricing for Molex's Mini PCI connector depends on quantity and configuration. For example, when purchased in quantities 25,000, the cost is $1.86 each. Lead time is four weeks.
