With 170 x 170 mm form factor, industrial-grade AIMB-213 is available with 45 nm Intel® Atom(TM) single-core N455 or dual-core D525 CPU that integrate graphics and memory controller hub onto single chip. Dual display capability supports LVDS, DVI, and VGA, while connectivity/expansion options include CF, PCI bus, 6 COM, 8 USB 2.0, 8-bit GPIO, Mini-PCIe, and 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet interfaces. Motherboard also supports system memory up to 2 or 4 GB of DDR3 800 SDRAM.

AIMB-213 Mini-ITX Motherboard with Intel® Atom(TM) N455/D525 Processors and DDR3 Memory Support
Irvine, California -Advantech, the embedded platform and integration services provider, is happy to announce the introduction of a new industrial-grade, Mini-ITX motherboard featuring the latest Intel® Atom(TM) processors. The single-core N455 and the dual-core D525 integrate Graphics (GMA 3150) and a Memory Controller Hub (GMCH) onto a single chip, enabling even smaller applications and even more power savings. AIMB-213 has rich I/O connectivity with up to eight USB 2.0 ports and six COM ports integrated in a standard 170 x 170 mm form factor. These motherboards also support dual display capability for LVDS, DVI and VGA.
Low Power Design
AIMB-213 is powered by the newest Intel Atom processors which are built on 45nm process technology. The graphics and memory controller are both integrated onto the same chip, enabling more space-efficient solutions. The Thermal Design Power (TDP) rating of the Intel Atom N455 single-core architecture is only 6.5 watts, while the dual-core processor is only 13 watts, enabling further power reductions, smaller systems and performance improvements. AIMB-213 utilizes the Intel ICH8M chipset, and provides 12VDC support, offering a lower total cost of ownership. AIMB-213 can support system memory up to either 2 GB or 4 GB of DDR3 800 SDRAM, (depending on processor).
Maximum Connectivity, Using Minimum Resources
The AIMB-213 comes with plenty of connectivity and expansion options. CompactFlash, PCI bus, six COM ports, eight USB ports, 8-bit GPIO, optional TPM security feature, and Mini-PCIe expansion slots enable easy integration, while a dual Intel chipset, 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet port is also available to deliver high speed networking. All this connectivity is packed into a space-saving, power-efficient, and cost-effective Mini-ITX form factor.
Dual Display Support
With integrated, embedded Intel Gen3.5+ graphics core and 200/400-MHz render clock frequencies for the N455/D525, AIMB-213 offers exciting integrated 3D graphics and video capabilities with up to 224 MB of shared graphics memory. AIMB-213 supports dual display with multiple display types such as VGA + LVDS or VGA + DVI. Video output is complemented by HD audio for a complete audio/visual solution.
Balanced Foundation
This blend of mainstream form factor with the popular Intel Atom processor produces a balanced combination of cost, connectivity, size, and thermal performance; and makes the AIMB-213 motherboard the ideal foundation for gaming, education, and kiosk applications.
Integrated Intelligent Software API
Advantech provides drivers and APIs including GPIO, SMBus, watchdog timer, hardware monitor, panel backlight on/off, and brightness control. Supported operating systems include Windows® 7, Windows XP, XP Embedded, Windows CE, and Linux-hardware drivers for these are readily available.
