Intel® Core(TM)i7/i5/i3 and Intel® Celeron® mobile series processors feature intelligent performance, power efficiency, and integrated Intel® HD Graphics with DX10 support. AIMB-272 is capable of SATA RAID 0, 1, 5 & 10 to ensure reliable storage and system protection for network-intensive applications.
Better Management with Intel® Support Tools
A number of hardware-assisted support tools designed to optimize the performance, graphics, and security capabilities of the AIMB-272 are available to improve management of the motherboard. Intel® Turbo Boost Technology is a Microsoft® Windows® sidebar gadget which provides a simple display of processor frequency, and improves performance by allowing processor cores to run at higher frequencies within the available thermal envelope. Intel® Hybrid Multi-monitor enables concurrent function of an integrated Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) alongside a discrete GPU solution, allowing for operation of more than two independently-driven displays. AIMB-272 is certified for Intel® vPro(TM) Technology, a set of tools that enable IT departments to better manage, maintain, and secure their business PCs with network filtering, client isolation, security agents and anti-virus protection. Finally, remote power-up capabilities assist managers with easy deployment of patches and asset management.
Maximum Connectivity Using Minimum Resources
AIMB-272 comes with high connectivity and expansion options including: one PCIe x16 expansion slot, six serial ports, two SATA III 600 MB/s connectors, one CFast SATAII connector, eight USB 2.0 ports, dual-display output with several display output interface options: VGA, DVI, HDMI (V1.4 for 3D Blu-ray stereoscopic 3D playback) and LVDS (LVDS supports 3.3v, 5v, and 12v for 24-bit/48-bit single/dual channel large size panels). AIMB-272 also comes with software RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 support, offering abundant data storage and reliable data protection, and dual PCI Express based Gigabit (Intel® 82579LM and 82583V) Ethernet ports delivering up to 1000 Mbps of bandwidth for network-intensive applications. All this connectivity is packed into a space-saving, power-efficient, and cost-effective Mini-ITX form factor.
Dual-Display and Excellent Graphics Performance
With the graphics engine integrated onto the processor chip, these two-chip solutions provide better graphics performance than previous Intel® platforms. The integrated graphics controller includes Intel® Dynamic Video Memory Technology and Intel® Clear Video Technology.
PECI 3.0 Support Enables CPU Turbo Power Mode Control
AIMB-272 integrates a power saving function designed to save current consumption when the system is in the "soft off" state. The power saving function supports system boot-on not only by pressing the power button but also from a wake-up event.
Integrated Intelligent Software API
Advantech provides drivers and APIs (SUSI Access) including GPIO, SMBus, watchdog timer, hardware monitor, panel backlight on/off, and brightness control.
