Lightweight, Solid-State Unit Performs 13 Air Data Measurements
WILMINGTON, MAÂ – AMETEK Sensors & Fluid Management Systems (SFMS) has developed a compact, solid-state Air Data Computer (8EB3AAA1) for military and commercial applications that utilizes a digital signal processor for fast calculation and response of air data parameters and a unique power supply system.
The unit features a MIL-STD-1553 interface that provides 13 different air data parameters calculated by an internal processor with a 40 msec update rate silicon pressure transducers provide the static and Pitot pressure values and are easily replaced without calibration.
The unit’s power supply allows it to operate through five second power interrupts at any input voltage in its operating range and ensures that critical air data parameters reach the cockpit and control systems under a wide variety of conditions.
The compact 8EB3AAA1 weighs 2.29 pounds, measures 6.81” x 6.0” x 2.5” and operates on 1.5 watts of power. An 11-bit reported pressure interface encoded per FAA order 1010.51A is available for Identification Friend or Foe equipment.
