Meeting MicroTCA.0 core specification, Blu!Box is 19 in. rackmount system in 5U height. With redundancy throughout, chassis features 2 MCH, 2 power modules, and 2 high performance EMMC cooling units with 5 fan and PWM control, and all modules/components are hot swappable and controlled via Intelligent Platform Management Interface. Unit has backplane with Dual Star topology in 22 layers, redundant field replaceable unit information devices, and carrier locaters.

Elma Releases Blu!Box MicroTCA Chassis
FREMONT, California, July 17, 2008 - Elma Electronic Inc., a global manufacturer of electronic packaging products, has announced the Blu!Box MicroTCA enclosure. The unit is fully redundant and features high-performance cooling.
The Blu!Box is a 19" rackmount system in a 5U height. It is compliant to the MicroTCA.0 core specification. With redundancy throughout, the chassis features 2 MCH, 2 Power Modules, and 2 high performance EMMC cooling units. All of the modules/components are hot swappable and controlled via IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface). The cooling units feature 5 each high performance fans and have PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) control. The chassis holds up to 10 full size AMCs in the single module format.
The backplane for the Blu!Box offers a Dual Star topology in 22 layers. It has been optimized for high-speed routing via signal integrity studies. Other features include redundant FRU (Field Replaceable Unit) information devices and carrier locaters.
Pricing for the MicroTCA Blu!Box depends on volume and configuration options. The lead-time is 4-6 weeks. The Blu!Box comes standard with an aesthetic blue powder-coated finish. Other colors and customization is available.
