CeramTec North America Expands Product Line

CeramTec North America Corporation (CTNA), the world leader in ultra-high vacuum seal technologies, has expanded its Ceramaseal® product line with the addition of the hermetic Micro D type (MIL - DTL-83513) connectors. These high-density hermetically sealed components are rugged and lightweight.

The contacts for CeramTec's Micro D type connectors are on .050 centers, which provide a significant space and weight savings over traditional Mil Spec connectors. The standard configurations include 9, 15, 25, and 51 gold plated pin/socket contacts. These contacts are available as a weldable unit in a ConFlat® or ISO flange. Each pin is individually sealed and electrically insulated from the stainless steel housing. This allows for a very high pin/lead density and a robust hermetic seal. The typical applications for these hermetic Micro D connectors include military and commercial aircraft, IR cameras, laser-guided systems, MRI equipment, and semiconductor testing and inspection equipment. These products are all RoHs compliant.

CeramTec (www2.ceramtec.com) is a wholly owned subsidiary of CeramTec GmbH and a leading manufacturer of high-tech, custom-engineered ceramic solutions, including hermetic components with the Ceramaseal® trademark. CeramTec products serve a wide variety of applications around the globe including: analytical/scientific equipment, automotive, defense/aerospace, energy, industrial, and semiconductor/ultra high vacuum industries.
