Larson Davis Releases SoundTrack LxT® Version 1.3 for Semi-Permanent Environmental Noise Monitoring

April 13, 2007, Depew, NY, USA - The Larson Davis division of PCB Piezotronics (PCB®) has announced the release of SoundTrack LxT® firmware version 1.3, with added functionality for occasional and semi-permanent outdoor noise monitoring of city, factory and construction site noise.

This latest release provides a lower-cost alternative to the high performance Model 831. It allows for overall statistical history, and provides enhanced data interval logging to measure every 100 milliseconds, allowing events to be captured with sufficient resolution. Community noise calculations may also be conducted right from the sound level meter itself.

SoundTrack LxT® Version 1.3 is fully supported by the Windows®-based Larson Davis Data, Navigation and Analysis (DNA) software for sound and vibration exposure measurement, analysis and reporting. Data can be logged directly onto a USB Thumb Drive, for easy collection and analysis with DNA. DNA software meets all specific requirements for data management, and allows creation of high quality charts, presentations and survey reports. It is compatible with all sound level meters within the Larson Davis family, including Model 820, Model 824, Model 831, and SoundTrack LxT®.

In addition to increased data collection capability and software support for SoundTrack LxT®, two new models of rugged protection boxes facilitate longer duration local data gathering for survey measurements. Model EPS030-LxT will allow SoundTrack LxT® to take routine field data measurements over the course of one week, and Model EPS029-LxT extends this timeframe to two weeks. When used with the Model EPS2106-2 microphone protector, the case allows for use of the sound level meter in semi-permanent outdoor data collections installations. When used with the power save function, Soundtrack LxT® is able to run for more than 30 hours on four e-Lithium AA batteries.
