Extech Announces Direct Measurement Technique of Total Chlorine Assuring Lab Precision Accuracy
Extech Instruments, a major supplier of test and measurement equipment for the industrial marketplace, announces its patent pending direct measurement technique of total chlorine for its revolutionary ExStik® Total Residual Chlorine meter, model CL200. The CL200 monitors Residual Chloramines and Total Chlorine including free chlorine, hypochlorite and chlorine bound to nitrogenous compounds. First of its kind "stick" meter utilizes a patent pending flat surface electrode for measurements in liquids, semi-solids and solids.
The ExStik CL200 provides direct reading of Total Chlorine from 0.01 to 10.00ppm quickly and easily and eliminates the need to store and transport a sample solution back to the lab for analysis. This convenient method has been approved by the U.S. EPA as an acceptable alternative method for 40 CFR Part 136 wastewater compliance monitoring. Accuracy is unaffected by sample color or turbidity. The large LCD simultaneously displays both chlorine and temperature readings and includes an analog bar graph to observe changes in solution. Temperature measurements range from 23° to 194°F (-5° to 90°C). The CL200 is ideal for the measurement of chlorine in drinking water, cooling towers, wastewater treatment systems, industrial cooling water, spas, pools, and in food processing. The ExStik CL200 is also available in kit form with interchangeable electrodes to measure pH and ORP. The EX800 kit including the necessary accessories and the pH electrode sells for $199. The EX900 kit, priced at $229, includes the ORP electrode and the contents of the EX800 kit.
