Polypropylene (PP) TYPE 9014 versions are offered in 11 capacitance options from 0.15-3.3 µF, with 450/220 Vac, in sizes of 18.0 x 5.5 x 9.5 mm, up to 31.0 x 16.0 x 24.0 mm. Units feature RoHS-compliant, non-inductive, flame-retardant epoxy resin coated parts with high self-healing properties.

Tecate Releases New Segmented Metallized Film Capacitors with Voltage Rating to 450 VDC/220 VAC
Radial Devices Feature Polyester or Polypropylene Film And Capacitances Ranging From 0.10 Microfarad to 10 Microfarads
San Diego, CA, July 29, 2009...Tecate Industries, a leading global supplier of capacitors and supercapacitors, today announced the release of two new film capacitors based on advanced segmented metallized film technology. The polyester (PET) film TYPE 9114 capacitors and polypropylene (PP) film TYPE 9014 film capacitors are offered to eliminate the risk of short-circuit failure and are supplied with voltage options of 250 VDC, 450 VDC and 450 VDC/220 VAC. A wide range of capacitance values and case sizes are also available to provide engineers with maximum design flexibility. The RoHS-compliant, non-inductive parts boast exceptional self-healing properties to support long product life, and are flame-retardant epoxy resin coated.
Tecate's new segmented metallized film TYPE 9114 and Type 9014 capacitors are designed to function in a broad array of active filter circuits in which high capacitance stability, excellent dielectric absorption, and self-healing performance is required. They are commonly specified for use in converters, and switch mode power supplies (SMPS) for laptop and desktop computers, and industrial equipment.
The PET TYPE 9114 capacitors feature 17 capacitance options in a range from 0.1 microfarad to 10 microfarads and voltage options of 250 VDC or 450 VDC. They are provided in sizes ranging from 5.5 mm (W) x 12.5 mm (L) x 9.0 mm (H), up to 17.5 mm (W) x 31.0 mm (L) x 26.5 mm (H). Notably featuring a very high dv/dt value and a voltage of 450 VAC/220 VAC, the PP TYPE 9014 capacitors are available in 11 capacitance options ranging from 0.15 microfarad to 3.3 microfarads. These parts may be ordered in sizes ranging from 5.5 mm (W) x 18.0 mm (L) x 9.5 mm (H), up to 16.0 mm (W) x 31.0 mm (L) x 24.0 mm (H).
Both the PET TYPE 9114 and PP TYPE 9014 are rated for an operating temperature range of -40 degrees C to +85 degrees C with full rated voltage applied. Capacitance tolerances are +/-5%. +/-10% and +/-20%. Dielectric strength is 1.6 Vr for 2 seconds, and dissipation factor is 1.0% max. at 1 KHz at 25 degrees C.
