Abrasion-Resistant Metallic Coatings Extend Life of Wear Components

A chromium carbide and nickel base metallic coating that is formulated for abrasion resistance and can be applied to cast or machined parts is being introduced by Lund Precision Products, Inc. of Hudson, Massachusetts.

Wear-Tuff® Abrasion-Resistant Metallic Coatings feature a proprietary carbide and nickel base formulation which is applied as a slurry or sprayed onto a cast or machined part and then sintered and fused in a controlled atmosphere. Providing a Rc 60-65 hard surface finish and a bond stronger than the base metal, these coatings at least double the life of wear components, depending upon their thickness and application.

Capable of withstanding sandblasting, grinding, mixing, cutting, sliding, and other highly abrasive applications, Wear-Tuff® Abrasion-Resistant Metallic Coatings can be applied from .025” to .040 thick on parts up to 30” W. Typical coated parts include agricultural cutting systems, construction equipment, conveyors, cranes, tracks, and mining wear parts.

Wear-Tuff® Abrasion-Resistant Metallic Coatings typically cost 20% or less than the price of a part and can be applied to user-supplied parts or the firm can furnish the part. Literature and quotes are available on request.
