Lock's High Sensitivity Goes Multiple

Lock Inspection Systems latest arrival to their comprehensive range of metal detectors is the state-of-the-art 3f/hf. Based on the proven advanced technology of Lock's MET 30+, the latest addition to its portfolio offers a fully automatic triple frequency metal detector, capable of highly accurate inspection of food products and also poly-film and metallized packaged products.

The 3f/hf features an in-built Automatic Frequency Selection facility, which chooses the optimum frequency, whatever the product or packaging. The high frequency is selected to inspect dry products such as cookies or snackfoods at 875Khz - four times more sensitive than standard food industry detectors. This frequency gives food manufacturers and packers a heightened sensitivity for non-ferrous and stainless steel metals - up to 30% higher than standard detectors.

The MET 30+ 3f 's operates at three crystal frequencies - low, medium and high. The detectors automatic product set-up facility eliminates the time required configuring the detector and ensures consistently high performance. For example, when inspecting dry products the detector will automatically select high frequency, whereas for a product wrapped in metallized film it will operate at low frequency. The user can rest assured that the detector's microprocessors will optimize the settings - whatever the product or packaging.

Flakes or slivers from machinery as well as swarf or wire from sieves, cutters or drilling during maintenance work can infiltrate the line at any stage during the production process. It is the pure, high resistance non-ferrous and stainless steel metals that pose major challenges to standard metal detectors. The MET 30+ 3f/hf can guarantee the highest level of product integrity available, offering peace of mind for food manufacturers.

The MET 30+ 3f/hf detector is available with a touchscreen keypad incorporating Lock's proprietary ADC software, which displays signals from the metal detector in graphical format. Data can be viewed on-screen so any changes in signal can be identified immediately and the detector adjusted to match the product being inspected. This delivers accurate detection of the minutest particles of metal - whatever the product profile.

Hitesh Hirani, technical director at Lock comments: "We developed the MET 30+ 3f/hf detector in response to industry demand for improved sensitivity on non-ferrous and stainless steel metals for dry applications while ensuring the versatility of inspecting a variety of products on the one metal detector. We have built on the proven electronics of the MET 30+ detector that have earned us world-wide recognition. The triple frequency, guarantees the highest levels of sensitivity, which means food manufacturers can rest assured their products are inspected to the highest standards".
