Ascom Launches Next Generation Messaging Units
GOTHENBURG, Sweden, March 15/- Designed for Environments Where Reliable Two-Way Messaging is Vital
Ascom Wireless Solutions, a market leader in on-site wireless communication throughout Europe and North America, is now launching the Ascom a71 and p71 messaging and alarm units. These brand new units are ideal for personnel working in demanding environments - hospitals, heavy industry and correctional facilities, for example - who need to be able to summon assistance and respond to messages without a moment's delay. Users will also be able to acknowledge receipt of assignments and, if the need arises, sound the alarm.
The unit is available in two versions: Ascom p71 with two-way messaging and Ascom a71 with two-way messaging and personal alarm.
The Ascom a71 and p71 features a novel and stylish design - large enough to show messages on a backlit LCD display yet small enough to carry comfortably. And thanks to a built-in antenna, users will not have to worry about the unit getting stuck in their clothes (even though it features a clip release just in case).
"The compact, lightweight, rugged design and the two-way messaging functionality will appeal to both industry and the healthcare sector," says Ann-Louise Jutebrant, Product Manager at Ascom. "The features will doubtless help them improve the quality of their processes and save valuable time."
The Ascom a71 and p71 operates over the UHF band, which means that a modest investment in infrastructure provides full coverage of even large-scale industrial or healthcare facilities. "Systems incorporating these units represent a relatively minor investment with a significant payback in wireless performance," concludes Ann-Louise Jutebrant.
The Ascom a71 and p71 integrates with existing infrastructures and can be programmed to receive crucial information from fixed systems such as machines, building automation systems and alarms.
