New Avery Dennison Printer Systems RFID Label Printer Offers Cost-Effective RFID Labeling Solution, RFID Gen 2 Capabilities

medium-duty RFID printer has advanced communications interfaces, is cost-efficient alternative to many continuous-duty RFID printers

PHILADELPHIA - A new competitively priced, medium-duty RFID label printer with RFID Generation 2 capabilities is now available from Avery Dennison Printer Systems. The product, called the AVERY DENNISON AP 5.4 RFID Printer, enables companies to meet stringent RFID labeling requirements in the apparel, footwear, retail, packaging, distribution and a broad range of industrial markets.

"The AVERY DENNISON AP 5.4 RFID Printer is an extremely cost-effective solution for companies implementing an RFID labeling operation or for those upgrading to RFID Gen 2-level capabilities," says Dan Williams, marketing manager, Avery Dennison Printer Systems. "The AP 5.4 RFID can perform most real-world RFID labeling tasks as quickly and efficiently as any RFID printer on the market, but has a lower price than many continuous-duty RFID printers."

Equipped with a high-speed microprocessor, the AVERY DENNISON AP 5.4 RFID Printer encodes and verifies RFID labels, and prints all popular 1D and 2D bar codes, graphics and human-readable copy on label surfaces. The printer's detect-and-reject capability detects improperly encoded RFID labels and identifies them with a printed marker. The printer accepts plug-in cards containing logos or additional graphics. It processes 4 x 2-inch, 4 x 4-inch and 4 x 6-inch RFID label sizes.

Superior Communications Features, Remote Operation
The AVERY DENNISON AP 5.4 RFID Printer features advanced communications capabilities, including Ethernet, serial and parallel interfaces. The printer can be controlled and operated from a remote PC via an Ethernet connection. An echo-command function displays the same command simultaneously on the printer's display screen and the remote PC's monitor.

The AP 5.4 RFID is also easy to maintain and operate. The printhead can be changed without using special tools, but simply by pressing a lever and turning a knob. Available printer options include label cutters and internal and external label rewinders.
