Low Cost 650W Medical Power Supplies Provide PFC, PFD, Thermal Protection and More
November 25, 2008 - Santa Clara, California, USA-Tumbler Technologies + TRUMPower announces the TM650 series of 650W AC/DC switching power supplies that is approved to medical standards.
The TM650 series is approved to UL 60601-1, CSA C22.2 No. 601.1, EN
60601-1 medical standards. Withstand voltage is 4000VAC from input to output, 1500VAC from input to ground, 500VAC from output to ground. The earth leakage current is as low as 90µA @ 115VAC/60Hz or 150µA @ 230VAC/50Hz typically. The series includes 20 standard models of single to triple outputs of 650-700W continuous power @ 50 CFM forced air. With all of the outputs being floating, the power supplies can be configured by the users to have even more output combinations and flexibilities.
Operating at a 90 to 264VAC universal input, the series has a power factor of 0.98 typically. Other key features include PFD, remote inhibit, remote sense, overvoltage, overcurrent and thermal protections. The units can be fully loaded at 0°C to +50°C ambient with derating required from 100% at +50°C linearly to 50% at +70°C. The series offers high reliability with its 300,000-hour minimum MTBF at full load at 25°C ambient per MIL-HDBK-217F.
The TM650 series complies with EN60601-1-2 EMC standards including EN55011 (class B conducted, class A radiated), EN61000-3-2 class A and D, EN61000-4-2, EN61000-4-3, EN61000-4-5, EN61000-4-11. It achieves an efficiency of 80% minimum and is compliant with RoHS requirements. With the dimensions being 5 x 10.5 x 2.5 inches, the units are constructed on a circuit board that contains a U-bracket for mechanical support and heat sinking. A cover and fan assembly is optional and can be added during manufacturing.
The TM650 series is priced at $169 in OEM quantity. Units are available from stock to 8 weeks ARO.
