Radisys Introduces Continuous Presence Video Conferencing Capabilities for Convedia Media Server Family
Added features equip RadiSys application development partners and service provider customers with new tools to add video conferencing to their Unified Communications solutions

The RadiSys Convedia media server's new "continuous presence" (CP) video conferencing mode supports multiple real-time video streams within a unified multi-pane display to deliver an "immersive" video experience for desktop conferencing users. This new capability is available now for the RadiSys CMS-9000 Media Server at no additional charge.

Continuous presence video adds a new mode of video conferencing support for video conferencing application developers. The RadiSys Convedia CMS-9000 media server already supports Voice-Activated Switching (VAS) so that all video conference participants see an identical real-time video stream of the active speaker. VAS is particularly beneficial for participants using mobile handsets where limited screen size makes multi-pane display impractical.
