Assets generation from live can be scheduled and assigned to different nodes, and content can be sourced from live or from mezzanine HLS repository to allow post-event asset generation. For content delivery, server leverages operators' managed networks and can be used for HTTP content origination, timeshifting, or edge packaging.

GRENOBLE, France -- Allegro DVT now unveils ALOrigin packager & origin server, for preparation, origination and delivery of Multiscreen/OTT TV Live, VOD and Catch-up content.

This new piece of equipment is the perfect companion for AL2400 High Density Transcoder and AL1000 Multiscreen Encoder, and completes our high performance encoding appliances with aspects such as:

- Content preparation (Catch-up, nPVR, VOD assets creation for multiscreen / OTT TV). In this scenario, assets generation from live can be scheduled and assigned to different ALOrigin nodes. Content can be sourced from live or from a mezzanine HLS repository, to allow for asset generation "after the show".
- Content delivery: ALOrigin leverages operators' managed networks and can be used for HTTP content origination, timeshifting or edge packaging. It ingests live or VOD mezzanine content from encoders and delivers it in multiple formats, to allow for adaptive streaming and progressive download on all devices, over the Internet or operators' managed network.

ALOrigin supersedes and replaces ALFragmenter, by adding high delivery capabilities, through 10 GigE network interfaces.

With ALOrigin, Allegro DVT now provides end-to-end multiscreen & OTT TV ecosystems, including adaptive bitrate encoding/transcoding, HTTP packaging, ad-insertion and HTTP content delivery, to directly serve content to a large amount of smartphones, tablets, PCs and connected TVs.
