LG Series Mechanical Gauges Reach New Levels in Force Measurement

LARGO, FL--For affordable yet accurate force measurement testing, AMETEK has launched the LG Series low-capacity mechanical force gauges from CHATILLON. Ideal for quality control, production line or laboratory testing environments, the new LG Series gauges are more economical but have twice the accuracy and resolution of the DPP range it replaces. Capacities have been extended for greater flexibility, including a 75lbf model that AMETEK believes no other manufacturer offers.

The LG Series gauges are compact, rugged and intrinsically safe for robust industry use. Testing in both tensile and compression modes covers most applications. Accuracy is excellent, with the new gauges providing 0.5% (of full scale). Force capacities are available up to 100lbf (50Kgf, 500N) for increased choice. The easy-to-read measurement dial rotates 360 for easy taring, and reading resolution is accurate to 0.5%, compared with 1% on gauge models offered by other manufacturers.

LG Series gauges can be mounted on all CHATILLON mechanical test stands, including the latest MT Series. A simple rotary mechanical switch enables fast peak result capture. Built-in safety feature protects against damaging mechanical overload. Metric and imperial versions are available to satisfy different global testing requirements.

Typical force measurement applications include testing the strength of medical devices, electronic components, springs, plastics and rubber, automotive components, packaging, textiles, business equipment, general manufacturing and more.

All LG Series customers receive a certification of calibration. For assurances over gauge calibration and performance, the AMETEK Test and Calibration Instruments Division is the only electronic force gauge manufacturer in the United States to be
accredited to ISO/IEC 17025-1999 standards.

Manufactured in the USA, the LG Series is marketed under the CHATILLON and AMETEK brands. The gauges are available from AMETEK for customers in the USA, and from Lloyd Instruments based in the UK for customers in the UK, Europe, Asia and the
rest of the world.
