New Spot Weld Force Measurement System

Lake Orion, MI There are a number of factors that go into creating a good spot weld, and clamping force is an important one. Typically, a technician will periodically audit the clamping force by placing a specialized force sensor between the electrodes and cycling the weld with the current off. The sensor then displays the clamping force so the technician may record it.

With the Bluetooth enabled Weld probe from Sensor Developments Inc. the technicians job get's easier. All the important information is held in a Tablet PC or laptop, for each recording. Upon power up of the Bluetooth enabled weldprobe, the sensor links up with the PC. Using a graphical user interface, the technician follows a schedule of maintenance for each welder. Each clamping force measurement is stored automatically along with the date, time, and designation of the welder. Upon completion of each measurement, the technician is directed to the next welder on the list.

When audit rounds are complete, the technician may print, or otherwise save the audit data for QC purposes.
