Mailing Software optimizes operational productivity.
September 22, 2011 -
With ability to dynamically adjust speed of insertion systems, Harmonix(TM) synchronizes interaction between operator, machine, and mailpiece to ensure that each application runs at optimum speed throughout its entire run. Software-controlled adjustments to cycle speed are based on real-time set sizes, machine performance, and material levels to ensure that insertion system is running at maximum efficiency.

Bell and Howell Introduces Harmonix(TM) Software at GRAPH EXPO
Optimizes Operational Productivity by Dynamically Adjusting System Speed
Durham, Sept. 12, 2011 - At GRAPH EXPO, Bell and Howell has introduced Harmonix(TM), a solution that can substantially improve inserting productivity using real-time machine, operator and application information, enabling mailers to achieve an improvement in net throughput and a reduction in processing time and cost. With Harmonix, mailers can realize a level of optimization not previously obtainable.
Harmonix synchronizes the interaction between operator, machine and the mailpiece, resulting in each application running at the optimum speed throughout the entire run.
By automatically adjusting cycle speeds based on variable set sizes, machine performance and material levels, both the operator and the system run at maximum efficiency with a lower cost per piece.
"Imagine driving a car that automatically changes its speed based on road conditions, weather, fuel efficiency and other factors," said Greg Norton, Bell and Howell business development manager. "Bell and Howell's Harmonix software provides a comparable experience for inserters. With Harmonix, the guesswork of what cycle speed is best for each run is replaced with software-controlled adjustments based on set sizes and machine performance over the life of the job."
See Harmonix running live on the newly enhanced F13 and A14 Bell and Howell systems in Booth 3611 at GRAPH EXPO in Chicago through Sept. 14.
