MMS-P Magnetic Switch

With the MMS-P, SCHUNK has added a brand new magnetic switch with two programmable switching points to its product range. Now, a single sensor is capable of detecting both the "open" and "closed" states. That means fewer sensors, cables, and adjustments, which leads to lower costs.

The switching points are now no longer set by pushing the sensor to the proper position and clamping it there. Instead, the sensor is simply mounted near the piston, which is moved to the desired switching position. One push of a button is enough to program the sensor to this switch-on point. If the standard switch-off hysteresis is too large, it can also be reprogrammed with ease.

Components such as grippers and rotary modules can be equipped with the MMS-P, because it fits into every 4-C groove in all SCHUNK products. It therefore represents an interesting alternative to the familiar MMS-22 sensors. The MMS-P is less expensive than two conventional slotted switches. The teachable slotted switch is available both as a connector version with 4-pin M8 connector and a cable version with open wires.
