HXM3-64 Magnetic Encoder

"The World's Smallest Magnetic Encoder"

MICROMO is pleased to announce the new HXM3-64 magnetic encoder, the world's smallest magnetic encoder in volume production today. This tiny, full-featured incremental encoder provides velocity, direction of rotation and position feedback for the Faulhaber DC motors ø6 mm motors in a 4.5 mm in length package. It has rugged Lexan housing material, making it a perfect match for small medical, instrumentation, laboratory, and camera automation applications.

The HXM3-64 can operate up to 30k RPM, making this one of the highest performance to size encoders offered in this product diameter range. The HXM3-64 includes a 25 mm length flexible cable that can attach to a standard Molex 52745 series 8-conductor ZIF connector. Operation temperature is -25°C to +85° at 4.5 to 5.5 VDC.

The HXM3-64 offers a range of resolutions and multiple output options. Incremental encoder resolutions of 16, 32 and 64 line counts are available with A, B and Z (reference) channels. The resolution can be easily set by the end user with no programming required. The low signal error HXM3-64 is available with active outputs. RoHS compliance ensures acceptance in environmentally sensitive markets. This encoder meets today's requirement for an economical and reliable feedback system for use with both brushed and brushless motors.
