Th. Wortelboer B.V. Introduces the New PBM-30
"Producing weld preparations is done in seconds"
On the TUBE 2006 in Düsseldorf Th. Wortelboer B.V., worldwide know as the leader in stationary pipe bevelling machines, presented the de PBM-30. The first machine of this size is sold to the Italian company Gieminox, producer of STAINLESS / DUPLEX steel pipes.
The complete PBM series, starting with the PBM-4, now has a reach of ½" till 30" (clamping reach 780 mm). The PBM-30 is capable to prepare a pipe with a 35 mm wall in one machining. Of course thicker walls are possible by simply machining the pipe several times after another.
The PBM-30 can be supplied with a so called copying system. A steel roll runs against the inside of the pipe and makes sure that the cutting tool exactly follows the contours of the pipe.
The machine is fully electrical to operate and the clamping power of the heavy duty prism clamp is adjustable by a potentiometer. Also the speed of the axial feed is easy variable to adjust. As the PBM-24, this machine is very reliable and quick under any circumstances.
The PBM-30 and the other PBM machines are used in offshore platform construction, pipe manufacturing, pipeline constructions and so on. Investing in a PBM machine is investing in quality. A well prepared bevel decreases the change on failures during welding, and increases the quality of the welding process.
