AVT Reveals First-Ever 9 Megapixel Machine Vision Camera

Allied Vision Technologies displayed prototype of Manta G-917 GigE Vision camera at AIA Vision Show 2012. World's first machine vision camera with new 9-Megapixel sensor.

Allied Vision Technologies gave a sneak preview of the first 9.2 Megapixel CCD camera in the machine vision market at the AIA Vision Show held in Boston on May 8-10, 2012. The camera manufacturer exhibited a prototype of its upcoming Manta G-917 in its booth. The new camera relies on an early sample of a brand new sensor from a leading manufacturer to be introduced in the market by the end of the year.

9.2 Megapixel resolution at 10 frames per second
This new 1" sensor chip has a 3384x2710 pixels resolution and delivers over 10 fps. The camera offers excellent image quality, reduced smear, high quantum efficiency and increased NIR sensitivity.

With its high resolution approach packaged in a standard industrial camera form factor of 44 x 29 x 86.4 mm, the Manta G-917 closes the gap between conventional machine vision cameras and very high resolution cameras with 35mm sensors such as the new Prosilica GT6600. The Manta G-917 will offer best in class price/performance ratio for high resolution applications such as ITS (Intelligent Transportation Solutions), microscopy or scientific applications as well for security purposes.

The Manta G-917 will be available in 4th quarter 2012.
