Original Press Release:

Automate check21 Processing for Remote Deposit Capture without Buying Special Check Scanners

Sunnyvale, CA - May 20, 2009 - Inlite Research Inc, a leading worldwide provider of production quality tools for image processing and data capture, today announced the general availability of the ClearCheck21 MICR Reader. MICR lines at the bottom of checks are critical to the check deposit and clearing process. Incorrect MICR reads are the major contributor to check processing exceptions averaging nearly 3% by industry estimates. Check scanners cannot read the MICR line if a correction strip is applied, requiring manual rework of exceptions and credit returns. New check21 technology from Inlite Research provides a high reliability OCR of the check MICR line, as well as correction strips. It can even read the MICR lines from IRDs, quality permitting.

ClearCheck21 can:

o Read X9.37 image cash letter files

o Accept PDF, TIFF, JPG and other file formats.

o Read multiple MICR lines per document, in any orientation

o Extract a well cropped, deskewed check image from a larger image

o Source code examples for VB and C++

"Financial application developers need a solution that can read images from any source," said Gene Manheim, Inlite's president and chief technology officer. "The new ClearCheck21 engine can accept check images from flat bed scanners and hot dog scanners, as well as traditional check scanners." Unlike magnetic MICR readers, it can read multiple lines on a check and on the IRD, and it can extract the check image in a form that is ready to remote deposit via an image file.

The MICR recognition engine is included in the ClearImage SDK, and it is free of charge to developers and can be downloaded from www.inliteresearch.com/homepage/download/downloadCI.html.
